e-Government Project 1
  • Implementation of 11i CRM, HR and Payroll, Financial, iProcurement, Remedy, SX3 Revs & Bens, Comino.
  • Plan, install, clone, administer, support, troubleshoot, patch all instances.
  • Customisations and development of add-on modules in Forms, Perl, Reports, JSP (MVC model).

Local Government Development Services:

  • C and Forms programming standards - research, definition, documentation and building the infrastructure (SCCS, directory structures, libraries, forms reference libraries, stored procedures).
  • Co-ordinated SQL*Forms v2.3 to v3 conversion - wrote UNIX scripts to automate the process.

Utilities (Gas, Electricity) Billing and Customer Information Systems Developmnent:
  • Developed time recording and charging system (for in-house use) using Forms 4.5.
  • Pre-implementation support for overseas clients (based in Orlando, Richmond, and Jamaica). Reported directly to senior executives from both SCT and the clients.
  • Developed forms, reports and processes comprising the Voids sub-system, and GIS sub system on the North West Water project.
  • Researched strategies to improve performance of batch processes (multi-processing, tuning, etc.).
  • Produced tools (shell scripts) to manage local tables, and to automate unit test plans.
  • Performed quality and standards reviews.
  • Analysis, design, coding, testing & implementation of a 'CRUD Matrix' impact analysis database. This involved writing complex C/Pro*C programs to analyse any source code (Forms, Pro*C, SQL, etc.) and build a database showing the interaction between modules and database entities. Forms were written to allow querying of the database and cross referencing with the data dictionary and specification documents control data.
1998 Electricity De-Regulation:
  • Data Migration (PL/SQL packages) from an old Meter Operator system to a new one.
  • Develop version control, tracking and release tools & procedures to enable easy delivery of client and server software to any number of environments.
  • Build and test the system using Developer 2000 (forms 4.5, reports 2.5), PL/SQL (packages, triggers), Pro*C and UNIX.
  • Produce technical specifications for coding.
  • Using Designer 2000, design the Oracle database for the system.
  • Advise other projects as to most suitable technical solutions to their questions.
  • Liase with designers of other systems to produce interface requirement specifications (including the Auto Invoicing Interface of Oracle Financials).

Call Centre - Customer Service Management
  • Full life cycle delivery of a billing/payments/sales ledger system for a call centre.
  • Later enhancements to web enable, with email billing, email correspondence (www.amerada.co.uk).
  • Oracle 7.3.4 (8i when web enabled, replication), UNIX (AIX), Windows NT.
  • Designer 2.1.2 used as per Oracle CDM to support analysis, design and development (functional hierarchy, process modelling, data modelling, application design, generation).
  • Analysis, design, build, QA of account set up, maintenance, payment method, call handling and system integration/messaging functions.
  • Backend interfaces & other processing written in PL/SQL, Perl, SQL Loader, shell and Pro*C.
  • Extensive use of server side PL/SQL in packages and triggers to achieve good client-server partitioning.
